Tidemint uses Sign-In with Ethereum (SIWE). Instead of creating yet another username and password, you sign-in using your Ethereum wallet.

At the moment Tidemint works with MetaMask and MetaMask-like wallets. We're going to add more wallet support in time.

Installation Steps
1. Choose and Install Your Wallet
Click one of the links above to install your preferred wallet. Most wallets take less than 2 minutes to set up.
2. Create Your Wallet
After installation, your wallet will guide you through:
- Creating a new wallet
- Securing your seed phrase (12-24 word recovery phrase)
- Setting a password for the application
CRITICAL: Write down your seed phrase and store it securely offline. Anyone with your seed phrase has complete access to your wallet. Never share it with anyone, including with Tidemint, or anyone claiming to work with us.
3. Return to Tidemint
Once your wallet is installed and set up, return to Tidemint and click Connect Wallet. Your wallet will prompt you to:
- Sign a message to prove you own the account (this is free - no transaction fees)
- Approve the connection
That's it! You're now signed in and ready to participate in Tidemint.
Security Tips
- Never share your seed phrase or private keys
- Always verify you're on the correct website URL before signing
- Use a hardware wallet (like Ledger or Trezor) for enhanced security
- Keep your wallet software updated
